The Esports team plays a pivotal role in designing and bringing to life the most amazing esports products for the community. They contribute to creating exceptional experiences that resonate with users and elevate the world of esports.

We are on the lookout for an experienced and dynamic Senior Director of Game Ecosystems to spearhead our multiple product teams. This pivotal role will ensure the seamless management of player, team, and tournament experiences within multiple beloved esports franchises. The ideal candidate will be based in the CET time zone (+/- 1 hour) and will oversee a team of multiple Product Managers. This position reports directly to our SVP of Game Ecosystems.

Key Responsibilities:

As the Senior Director of Game Ecosystems, you will play a crucial role both independently and collaboratively, focusing on the following essential duties:

  • Drive and implement a cohesive strategy across our product portfolios, ensuring alignment with overarching company and business unit goals.
  • Develop and implement effective resource planning to guarantee timely and successful product delivery.
  • Champion the global brand strategy, reinforcing the values and tone of both products to enhance player engagement.
  • Foster strong relationships with publishers in your region, managing the portfolio of games to optimize performance.
  • Take direct ownership over an eight figure P&L, ensuring resources are allocated effectively to meet program and business objectives.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to define and implement a robust commercial strategy that drives business unit growth.
  • Manage and support resources tied to cross-department functions, ensuring seamless organization of our esports products.
  • Keep stakeholders informed through the creation and presentation of insightful internal and external reports.
  • Define key performance indicators (KPIs) for products and measure success over time, utilizing data to inform strategic decisions.
  • Ensure seamless connectivity between esports products and commercial teams, fostering monetization strategies.
  • Drive continuous innovation across product formats, broadcast production, consumer experiences, and event management, while documenting workflows effectively.
  • Serve as the primary communication liaison across various departments, ensuring accurate and contextual information flow.

Requirements:

What You Need:

  • Minimum of 7 years in managing teams in Project or Product Management, Event Management, or a related field within, competitive gaming, esports or gaming entertainment.  Esports industry experience is required.
  • Deep understanding of the gaming and esports landscape is required; familiarity with Overwatch 2, Fortnite Creative and similar games is strongly desired.
  • A mastery of esports related competitive formats, content creation, and understanding of the related intricacies along with a deep knowledge of esports communities.
  • Esports product creation, development and / or scaling experience.
  • An intuitive understanding of how to market gaming experiences to identified target audiences.
  • A genuine enthusiasm for esports and its various communities, with a drive to innovate within the competitive gaming space.
  • Proven ability to work effectively with multiple stakeholders to achieve program objectives.
  • Experience managing various workstreams, products, and staff simultaneously, while maintaining high standards.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with a track record of motivating and aligning team members.
  • Ability to present complex concepts clearly and concisely to high-level management and stakeholders.
  • Experience at effective management of various high level internal stakeholders as well as external partners such as game publishers, commercial partners, and vendors.
  • Experience in building strategic business plans, product roadmaps, and other essential business documentation.
  • Excellent organizational capabilities, adept at juggling multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in English, both spoken and written.  Highly effective at verbal and written communication.
  • Mastery of Google Suite including Docs, Sheets, and Slides or their Office counter-parts.
  • Willingness and ability to travel globally as needed.
