Oceanic esports scene to strengthen as ESL partner with the Australian Cyber League (ACL)

ESL and ACL to focus on developing the region’s esports scene

ESL, the world’s largest esports company, announced today that it will partner with the Australian Cyber League, an Australian-based company, to strengthen the esports’ community presence in the Oceanic region.

“We’re a truly global company that saw a successful expansion into North America last year, having previously established ourselves in Europe and Asia. Today, we’re happy to announce that we will now also be focusing on the Oceanic region,” said Sebastian Weishaar, Senior Vice President International Business at ESL. “We consistently see Oceanic teams compete in major competitions, such as Intel Extreme Masters and ESL One, against teams from more established regions. With our new partnership, we’re committed to giving the Oceanic region a fairer shot at major international competition by giving them more opportunities to compete at a higher level within their own countries.”

As a pioneer of Oceanic esports since 2006 and operating VIM Media & Events, a technical events agency since 2011, ACL are a company with intimate knowledge of the scene. Focusing on not only hosting, but also producing high-quality events and broadcasts, has led to ACL establishing itself as the most well-known esports provider within their region. ACL is well known for assisting the most prolific gaming publishers with their highly successful Oceanic campaigns in addition to delivering the first and only consistent esports circuit with multiple live events in Australia.

“We have long been looking up to ESL as the global leader in the space, producing some of world’s best esports events. It makes great sense to partner with ESL,” said Nick Vanzetti, Managing Director at ACL. “This partnership will allow us to level up the current esports offering and truly put our region on the map. There are some exciting projects already in development which we look forward to sharing with the passionate fans of our growing scene.”

ESL Australian operations will be conducted from Sydney, New South Wales. ACL will continue to provide its existing portfolio of services to its clients.
