ESL Brings Original Programming to D|XP, Disney XD’s New Summer Programming Block Dedicated to Gaming

New D|XP Programming Will Feature ESL’s Esports Shows “ESL Brawlers” and “ESL Speedrunners” – ESL Content Appears on Linear TV for the First Time in the U.S.

ESL, the world’s largest esports company, today announced two original television series set to air on D|XP, a new daily summer programming block dedicated to the world of gaming on Disney XD. The new shows will include ESL Brawlers, which will premiere on July 20, 2017, and ESL Speedrunners, which is set to air in August. This marks the first time that ESL content will air on linear TV in the United States.

“Creating original programming is one of ESL’s top priorities and we are thrilled to partner with Disney’s D|XP to create engaging content for their audience,“ said Nik Adams, Senior Vice President of Global Media Rights and Distribution, ESL. “We’ve produced really exciting, unique content for D|XP to capture a variety of gaming elements across the cultural landscape, and we look forward to bringing this programming to the community.”

ESL’s programming includes two unique series with seven episodes per show. ESL Brawlers tests the limits of some of the most skilled players of Street Fighter® V by Capcom to determine the best player over the course of six action-packed episodes. Challengers enter a grueling first to 10 match for a chance at the throne, while the reigning winner must defend their title from new challengers each week. ESL Brawlers will also feature a seventh episode presenting a special Vainglory competition, combining community influencers with professional Vainglory players in an exciting 3 vs. 3 match.

ESL Speedrunners will highlight a different side of gaming. Speedrunning takes on an entirely different terrain through a race against the clock to complete each game in the shortest amount of time. The show brings the best Speedrunners from around the world to jump, fly, and warp through favorite titles, chasing the elusive world record.

“ESL is a leader in competitive gaming and we are excited to bring this original programming to our D|XP audience,” said Marc Buhaj, Senior Vice President, Programming and General Manager, Disney XD.

D|XP will showcase games, publishers, events, and prominent personalities across the gaming landscape including both entertainment gaming and esports.
