EFG ESPORTS FORUM is coming back to Katowice!

Join us to listen to insightful keynotes, meet and network with other industry members and learn about the most critical trends and perspectives for esports development.

This year the esports industry meeting will last two days – the first will feature open lectures by industry experts, followed by a closed forum for representatives of public institutions and politicians.

Director, Game Ecosystems Mobile at EFG. Simon Eicher joined EFG in 2005 and has played a significant role in driving the worldwide growth of esports over the past ten years. In his early role he drove the global broadcasting and productions as an executive across the globe and did support the global event production team meanwhile helping local studios and teams to gain traction in their markets for state of the art broadcasts and productions. Starting in 2023 Simon is taking the next challenge as Director Game Ecosystems Mobile in order to drive and accelerate the growth and capabilities of the EFG Mobile Ecosystem to create new ways of tournament play and participation.

EFG - Worlds Beyond Gameplay
Aleksander Szlachetko - Managing Director at ESL Gaming Polska. He joined the world's largest independent esports company in October 2016, taking the role of Development Director. Then in March 2017, he was promoted to the position of the Managing Director of ESL Gaming Polska. Earlier, he worked at Intel for 15 years as a Manager of PC sales in the region of Europe, Africa, and the Middle East. He was responsible for the strategy and sales of high-performance computers targeted at the market of players and enthusiasts, as well as new, innovative PCs such as Intel NUC or Intel Compute Stick. He's also the one who, from the very beginning, believed in IEM Katowice and worked with ESL and Katowice City to create the best esports experience for fans.

Dr. Julia Hiltscher was born in 1983 in Westerstede, Germany. As Director Corporate Responsibility she manages the CSR projects and Change Management including the non-Financial reporting at ESL Faceit Group. She played Unreal Tournament in the World Cyber Games in 2004 and established eMAG – an online eSports magazine – with Tobias Scholz in 2004. Julia Hiltscher has been a working at ESL since Feb. 2006 and established the world’s first global research annual called the “esports yearbook” in 2009 to foster esports research. Hiltscher achieved her PhD about Esports Culture in 2021. In 2020, Julia Hiltscher became a founding member of the Esports Research Network.

Owner Mindflex Coaching Urszula Klimczak (@Xirreth) started her career in esports in the 2014. She was one of the first people that really wanted to improve the mental skills of the esports athletes. Throughout her career she learnt that the best way to achieve success is by building the environment in the organization that empowers the players and the staff to achieve the best possible results. Her big focus is also preventing the team disfunctions from happening. In her work she highly value aspects like trust, motivation, the hunger for success and the ability to sustain peak performance over the long period of time. Currently Urszula is the Head of Players Development in ENCE and CLG. In the past teams like Roccat, Fnatic, TSM, Giants Gaming, and more completed with her successfully their performance improvement projects. Urszula supports not only esport athletes, she works also with streamers, poker and chess players, as well as business organizations and sports athletes.’

In charge of urban planning and land use plans, architecture, construction administration, city aesthetics, monument preservation, economic development, geodesy and land cadastre, sustainable development, blue/green deal, energy. Representative of the city and associations in governmental projects.

In the Senate of the 10th term, she is the vice-chairman of the Science, Education and Sport Committee, a member of the Human Rights, Rule of Law and Petitions Committee and the Special Committee for Climate Affairs. She actively works for women - she is a plenipotentiary of the Congress of Women. He is an engineer. For several years she worked as a pedagogue, teaching vocational subjects in the Complex of Electronic Schools in Sosnowiec and educating youth and adults in the Vocational Training Department. He has extensive managerial experience in budgetary companies and establishments.

Currently, a local government employee and a social activist. A distinguished advocate of downtown revitalization and the return to city centers. Before the EU accession referendum, he had worked at the Regional Center of European Information in Katowice. Following his studies in Germany, he was involved in the creation of the Silesian Metropolis at the office of the Upper Silesian Metropolitan Association. A Scholarship beneficiary of the “Carl Friedrich Goerdeler Kolleg für Good Government” Program, Robert Bosh Foundation. Mayor’s Representative in charge of Investors’ Service at Chorzów City Hall since 2015 and the Director of Investors Assistance Department at Katowice City Hall since 2019.

Former Nordic combination competitor, coach and sports activist. In 1999 he became the coach of the Polish national team of ski jumpers. He then introduced a physiologist to the training staff, Dr. Jerzy Żołądź, and a psychologist, Prof. Jan Blecharz. Tajner was a coach of Adam Małysz, who soon began a succesfull career as a ski jumper. Małysz won the World Cup three times in a row under the leadership of Tajner. Małysz was three times World Champion and one world runner-up, won the 49th 4-Hills-Tournament and won bronze and a silver medal at the 2002 Olympics in Salt Lake City. A. Tajner obtained the title of a master class coach, he won the title Coach of the Year 2001 in the plebiscite of Przegląd Sportowy and in the years 2006 - 2022 he was President of the Polish Ski Association. In the 25th Anniversary Sports Plebiscite Tajner won the title of Coach of Free Poland. In 2022, decorated by the President Andrzej Duda with the Commander's Cross of the Order of Polonia Restituta. Currently he is the Vice-President of the Polish Olympic Committee.

Leading expert in corporate finance and fund management. Having previously worked in consulting, in 2016 she became an advisor to the Minister of Economic Development. Responsible for management of the State's innovative projects portfolio, she spearheaded the MinFinTech programme as well as digital initiatives in the fields such as education or finance. In 2017 appointed an Advisor to the Prime Minister on Innovation Policy and Finance. Since the GovTech Polska Programme’s establishment in April 2018, she is serving as Head of the GovTech Polska Programme - Poland's largest initiative aimed at bringing and implementing the innovation and digital revolution to the Public Sector. She was appointed the Prime Minister’s High Representative for Government Technology in March 2020 and currently serving as Head of the GovTech Centre in the Chancellery of the Prime Minister. Writer of fantasy novels .For her actions, she has received multiple awards, including Forbes 30 under 30, Digital Shape, the Digital Eagle award and the Innovation Eagle award.
