IT Specialist

The technology backbone is essential to work done at Esports Engine and our IT Specialists are at the core of those tools, ensuring that they are properly tested, configured and deployed for use across a variety of projects. From festival activations to in-studio broadcasts as well as global events, our IT Specialists are responsible for the computer hardware and networking equipment used by players, crew and attendees.

What you will do:

  • Providing technical and equipment support to the Engineers, Project Managers, and Account Managers as required as well as assist in the configuration of equipment, services, and systems;
  • Conveying technical information and suggesting well thought out technical solutions to problems are paramount to the role of an IT Specialist;
  • Documenting systems and instructions, while delivering local and remote support to these systems;
  • Using your knowledge and strong interpersonal skills to suggest and guide other teams towards the best technical solution for any given opportunity;
  • Helping design and implement suitable temporary solutions for deployed systems;
  • Ensure equipment leaving the warehouse is configured and tested, ready for use onsite;
  • Assist the Engineers and Project Managers by setting up and administering technical equipment and network infrastructure for live streamed events;
  • Configure, deploy and manage network infrastructure for streaming events;
  • Supporting the configuration, deployment and troubleshooting of equipment and systems remotely if issues arise;
  • Support onsite engineers with local network routing and troubleshooting.

Requirements:

  • 3+ years of IT Support, troubleshooting and configuring different forms of technology;
  • Relevant Experience or a strong interest in entering the event industry;
  • Strong understanding of technical equipment with a drive to learn new or unfamiliar systems;
  • Experience configuring, deploying and monitoring networks;
  • Confident communicator with positive interpersonal skills; a team player;
  • Ability to work logically and systematically, managing multiple projects simultaneously;
  • Ability to deliver projects to the robust standards expected by ESL FACEIT Group and our clients;
  • Proactive and self-motivated, ability to take initiative;
  • Problem solving; ability to think strategically and implement robust, stable solutions;
  • A track record of excelling with little supervision.

Nice to have:

  • Passion for video games and interactive media;
  • Familiarity with PFSense, Juniper and Ubiquiti systems;
  • Network Certification i.e. Comptia Network+, CCNA, JNCIA;
  • The desire for a fast paced, entrepreneurial environment;
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution.
