Snapdragon Pro Series Powered by Samsung Galaxy hosts First Mobile Challenge Finals in Latin America

Garena Free Fire Tournament Marks League’s First Live Competition in Brazil as Teams Vie for up to $40K USD Prize Pool and Qualification for Mobile Masters

Nov. 21, 2023 Cologne/New York/San DiegoESL FACEIT Group (EFG), the leading esports and video game entertainment company, today announced details of the first-ever live Snapdragon Pro Series Powered by Samsung Galaxy tournament in Latin America. The Garena Free Fire Mobile Challenge Finals from February 24-25 will mark the first LAN event in Brazil for the Snapdragon Pro Series, the world’s largest multi-title mobile esports league, with up to $40,000 USD in prizing and six qualification spots for the global Mobile Masters tournament.

“Latin America has grown into a powerhouse region for gaming and esports, with a particularly passionate mobile fanbase and 1 million players participating in LATAM Snapdragon Pro Series competitions alone,” said Kevin Rosenblatt, Senior Vice President of Game Ecosystems, EFG. “We’re excited to bring Garena Free Fire, one of the most popular mobile titles in the region, to the millions of local fans that watch and compete in the Snapdragon Pro Series and set the stage for Garena Free Fire’s first-ever Mobile Masters tournament in April 2024.”

Since becoming part of the Snapdragon Pro Series ecosystem in April, Latin American participants have represented nearly a third of the over 3 million global players that have taken part in the Snapdragon Pro Series since Year 2 began. With the region’s gaming market on track to grow 10 percent year-over-year through 2028 and smartphone adoption similarly increasing, Latin America is emblematic of gamers’ growing appetite for accessible mobile esports competition.

Qualification for the Mobile Challenge season will take place December 8 to January 7. Teams are still able to sign up to compete, with 12 of the 18 spots in the Challenge circuit up for grabs. Six more teams will earn Mobile Challenge spots through the Liga Brasileira de Free Fire, another Garena Free Fire league in Latin America.

The Mobile Challenge season will feature three weekends of play culminating in a battle for qualification to the Garena Free Fire Mobile Masters, the largest Snapdragon Pro Series competition of the year. Competition on Jan. 26-28 and Feb. 2-4 will determine the top six regular season teams that will qualify for the Challenge Finals, and play-in competition on the weekend of Feb. 9-11 will complete the 12-team field. From there, the top six finishers at the Garena Free Fire Mobile Challenge Finals will earn berths to compete against six other qualified teams from Southeast Asia in Mobile Masters, the largest tournament of the year.
