ESL Pro League Season 11 Finals to Debut with all-new Format in Denver, USA

24 professional CS:GO teams to battle for their shot to become the first Pro League Champions following signing of historical agreement

Cologne – Feb 19th – ESL, the world’s largest esports company, is proud to announce that the Season 11 of ESL Pro League in Counter-Strike: Global Offensive (CS:GO) will celebrate the first season finals of its brand new format in Denver, Colorado, USA. The re-invented competition which establishes a new framework for the CS:GO ecosystem with long-term league slots for teams including revenue and profit sharing, will conclude with the top six out of 24 teams battling it out for the lion’s share of the US $750,000 prize pool at the 1st Bank Center in Denver, Colorado, from April 10 through 12, 2020.

Solidifying ESL Pro League as the most competitive league in CS:GO, the season will feature 24 teams from around the world playing offline matches in four groups of six, beginning on March 16. The tournament culminates in a three-day finals tournament at the 1st Bank Center in Denver, Colorado, featuring the world’s six best teams coming out of the season.

“We are beyond excited to bring ESL Pro League back to the States after two years. The North American fans have always been very supportive and we want to reward them by hosting the revolutionary 11th season of ESL Pro League in the heart of North America” said Ulrich Schulze, Senior Vice President Product at ESL.. “The Mile-High city of Denver is the perfect fit to introduce the all-new format at an all-new location for ESL Pro League.”

The finals in Denver are the first ones after an agreement – informally dubbed ‘The Louvre Agreement’ – which was signed by ESL, DreamHack and 13 of the top teams in professional CS:GO. ESL Pro League has now become a 24-team competition with a single global division, moving away from the previous regionalised model.

The top level partner teams of ESL Pro League thus have become majority stakeholders in the league with a long-term slot for participation. Between them, the signatories of the agreement have won 28 ESL and DreamHack Masters-level competitions and two Intel® Grand Slams in the last four years and represent all of the top 10 ranked teams in the world.

The ESL Pro League is one of the most important tournaments in the ESL Pro Tour and counts towards the $1,000,000 Intel® Grand Slam prize for winning six Masters tournaments inside a span of ten consecutive competitions, or four Masters tournaments including a Masters Championship. The Season 11 Finals is the first stop in Central USA for professional CS:GO gameplay after DreamHack hosted DreamHack Open in 2017.
