Oceanic Underdogs ‘Peace’ Upset Favourites to Claim Title of LCO Split 2 Champions, Viewership Records Smashed

Dark horse ‘Peace’ defied predictions and secured a 3-0 upset win against Pentanet.GG in the DoorDash LCO Split 2 Grand Final on Tuesday, qualifying for the League of Legends World Championship

Sydney, Australia, September 2nd ESL Gaming Australia and Guinevere Capital, operators of the premier League of Legends tournament in Oceania, the DoorDash League of Legends Circuit Oceania (‘LCO’), today celebrated the 3-0 victory of Peace over Pentanet.GG in Tuesdays DoorDash LCO Split 2 Grand Final.

The victory for Peace comes after their run through the lower bracket saw them topple The Chiefs, ORDER and Dire Wolves on their way to the Grand Final, finally emerging victorious in three convincing games against Pentanet.GG. Peace will now take home $15,000USD, and qualify through to the Riot Games’ League of Legends World Championship, held in Europe this October.

Split 2 of the DoorDash LCO ended smashing viewership records for Oceanic League of Legends, with multiple broadcasts reaching over 10,000 concurrent viewers during the Split 2 Playoffs. Across the whole of 2021, the DoorDash LCO saw over 1.5 million total Oceanic Unique viewers tune in – demolishing the previous year’s total (set by the former OPL) by 36%.
