eAllsvenskan Season 5 Kicks Off on November 19, Including a New Format

STOCKHOLM – DreamHack Sports Games, an ESL FACEIT Group brand, and the Swedish Professional Football Leagues (SEF), today announced the start of the fifth season of eAllsvenskan on November 19. Using a brand new format with a mix of 5 offline and online events, 13 Allsvenskan and Superettan clubs all compete for the title of Sweden’s best club in EA SPORTS FIFA 23.

Season 4 champions IFK Göteborg will be defending their title against opponents AIK, AFC Eskilstuna, Degerfors IF, Hammarby IF, Helsingborgs IF, IK Sirius, Malmö FF, Trelleborgs FF, IF Elfsborg, and Varbergs BoIS,  and eAllsvenskan debutants from Mjällby AIF and IFK Värnamo.

This season of eAllsvenskan will be played with an entirely new format with five stand-alone events, which will all be decided in a Double-Elimination bracket. Teams will not only compete to win these stand-alone events and the prize money but will also be collecting points for a combined season standing in order to qualify for the Finals event in Spring.

In total, this season will see five events, which will be a mix of offline and online events – always played on Saturdays. The first event will go down in the new gaming center FUZED in Helsingborg on Saturday, November 19, with the broadcast starting at 12 PM on Twitch and YouTube.

The total prize pool for the season is SEK200,000, and besides the lion’s share of the money, the winning team will receive Play-In spots for the EA SPORTS FIFA 23 Global Series Playoffs.

It’s going to be very cool to kick off the fifth season of eAllsvenskan with a brand new and exciting format – and most importantly, we now have the opportunity to visit clubs and fans, making our league more open and relevant for more people,” said Nicklas Mether, Project Manager at Swedish Professional Football Leagues (Svensk Elitfotboll, SEF).

Event dates for eAllsvenskan Season 5:

  • Saturday, November 19, 2022 at FUZED in Helsingborg
  • Saturday, December 3, 2022
  • Saturday, January 28, 2023
  • Saturday, February 25, 2023
  • Saturday, March 11, 2023

The time and venue for events 2-5 will be announced at a later stage, as will the venue and date for the Finals event. Teams placed 1-6 qualify directly to the Finals, while teams placed 7-10 will enter into a Playoff stage to determine the final two spots for the Finals.
