Eight Eredivisie clubs show off their skills in EA SPORTS FIFA 23 in the hope to be crowned champion

Zeist / Utrecht  Eredivisie, the organizing body of the highest level of professional football in the Netherlands, and DreamHack Sports Games, a brand of the ESL FACEIT Group (EFG), the leading esports and video game entertainment company, announced details about the KPN eDivisie Finals.

On Saturday, May 6, 2023, eight Eredivisie clubs will compete in the KPN eDivisie Finals in Jaarbeurs Utrecht, shoot for their share of the €50,000 prize pool, and hope to claim the traditional championship trophy. Furthermore, the finalists battle for seats at the EA SPORTS FIFA 23 Global Series Playoffs – the qualification event for the FIFAe World Cup. The climax of the KPN eDivisie season is expected to be attended by thousands of visitors – a worldwide record for a live EA SPORTS FIFA 23 event (current record: 1.850 visitors). 

The KPN eDivisie Finals consist of seven matches: four quarter-finals, two semi-finals, and the Grand Final. All matches will be played and broadcast live, and are all open to the public to attend. Seven out of the eight finalists have already been decided: Ajax, FC Groningen, Excelsior, Vitesse, FC Twente, Feyenoord, and FC Volendam. The final team joining the ranks will be found at the Playoffs on February 21, 2023. 

Next to the KPN eDivisie Finals matches, visitors can experience full entertainment all day: They can find out more about their favorite Eredivisie clubs, check out the EA SPORTS FIFA free-to-play area, and test their skill sets in the courts with the platform Panna Knock Out. On top of that, there will be a meet & greet area for visitors for them to see their heroes face-to-face. More activities will be announced soon.

Prior to the KPN eDivisie Finals, visitors can watch the finals of the KPN eDivisie Cup. Here, the best EA SPORTS FIFA 23 amateurs of the Netherlands are representing their favorite Eredivisie club. They are competing for a share of the €2,000 prize pool, a traineeship at their favorite Eredivisie club, and a chance for a spot in the pre-selection of E_Oranje – the esports division of the Dutch national football association. 

Tickets for the KPN eDivisie Finals are available on the eDivisie website. The doors of the Jaarbeurs are open on May 6, 2023, from 10am-7pm, and the KPN eDivisie Finals will be played from 1pm-6pm.
