Everything You Need to Know Ahead of Intel® Extreme Masters Dallas 2024

North American Counter-Strike stars will face off against the world’s best on their home turf

Wednesday, May 22, 2024, Cologne/New York/Dallas – The 100th Intel® Extreme Masters (IEM) celebration is on its way to Dallas, Texas. Commemorating the legacy of esports with a clash of some of the world’s best Counter-Strike 2 (CS) teams, IEM Dallas is set to take place on May 27 – June 2, with the final three days of the competition hosted at DreamHack Dallas in the Kay Bailey Hutchison Convention Center. Fans from North America and beyond will have a one-of-a-kind opportunity to witness history and the crowning of the 100th IEM Champion.

IEM Dallas 2024, brought to you by ESL FACEIT Group, the leading esports and video game entertainment company, will see 16 top CS teams compete for a total prize pool of $250,000, a win in the race to secure the 1,000,000$ Intel® Grand Slam V, and a dedicated spot in the group stage of IEM Cologne later this year. Starting May 27, competitors from around the globe will vie for the opportunity to secure one of the six coveted spots in the Playoffs – the final showdown in front of the crowd on May 31 – June 2. Fans attending IEM Dallas will be part of onsite festivities as EFG, partners, teams, and fans from around the world celebrate the 100th IEM event.

Schedule and Format

Group Stage (May 27 – 29): 

  • Two double-elimination format groups with eight teams each. The opening matches are best-of-one, and all following matches are best-of-three.

Playoffs (May 31 – June 2):

  • The top three teams from each group advance to the Playoffs with a single-elimination bracket and best-of-three matches:
    • The Group Stage winners advance to the Semifinals
    • The Group Stage runner-ups advance to the Quarterfinals as the High Seeds
    • The Group Stage third-place teams advance to the Quarterfinals as the Low Seeds

The IEM Dallas 2024 team lineup includes a strong group of local heroes hailing from North America determined to secure the 100th IEM trophy on their home turf. Among them are NA organizations such as Complexity, with local stars EliGE, floppy, and Grim; M80, with Swisher and reck representing; Team Liquid, consisting of Canadian players NAF and Twistzz; and North American organizations FlyQyest and FaZe Clan, who field international rosters.

The All-Star Hour Showmatch

IEM Dallas will also feature a showmatch with fan-favorite players forming two teams to face off against each other. The All-Star Hour Showmatch will take place before the IEM Dallas Grand Final at 11:00 AM CDT on June 2, where Team North America will go head-to-head with IEM Veterans. Fans visiting the event on-site can look forward to cheering on the teams live at the arena, while those tuning in online from around the globe can expect an exciting live broadcast. The DreamHack Dallas Experience

For the third time in the history of Intel® Extreme Masters, the event will be hosted at the three-day, immersive gaming-lifestyle festival DreamHack, allowing visitors of the IEM competition to enjoy DreamHack Dallas and vice versa.

Fans eager to experience even more Counter-Strike action during the weekend will have an opportunity to watch and enjoy the Global Finals of the all-women CS circuit: ESL Impact Season 5. Eight world’s best women’s teams will clash live at DreamHack Dallas for a share of the $123,000 prize pool and a chance to lift the coveted champion’s trophy.

The live broadcast will be available on FACEIT Watch, ESL Counter-Strike Twitch, and YouTube channels, as well as via dedicated broadcast partners. For those unable to tune in live, all matches will also be available to watch on-demand for free via YouTube.
