ESL announces professional competition for Nordic gamers

ESL, the world’s largest esports company, is set to host an all-new professional Counter-Strike: Global Offensive competition, the ESL Nordic Nationals, in the world’s largest gaming centre: Stockholm’s Inferno Online. Two months of intense competition featuring eight of the region’s best first person shooter (FPS) teams will culminate in Sweden’s capital where they will battle it out for €15,000 in prize money.

Teams of all skill levels with a majority roster from Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway or Sweden are eligible to take part in ESL Nordic Nationals competition. Signups open October 19 on play.eslgaming.com for every one of the four qualifiers that each country has. Here, teams will fight to advance to the group stages where they will be placed in groups of four with other teams from their respective countries.

“The Nordic region boasts some of the best Counter-Strike teams in the world right now,” said Samuel Renström, Nordic Community Manager at ESL. “The ESL Nordic Nationals is our way of ensuring that we continue to foster growth and maintain stability in the region. We look forward to what the competition has in store and are excited to see the offline finals play out in Sweden.”

The first qualifiers are scheduled to start on Monday October 26, 2015. For more information visit the ESL Nordic Nationals website or www.eslgaming.com.
