ESL to host the Arena of Valor North American and European playoffs live from the E3 ESL Arena supported by AT&T and Razer
Tencent Games and ESL are bringing fast-paced Arena of Valor mobile esports competition to the Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3). Through collaboration with ESL, the world’s largest independent esports company, the Valor Series playoffs will take place at the E3 ESL Arena on June 12-13 in Los Angeles. Tencent’s first player-facing attendance at E3 underpins the company’s ongoing commitment to mobile esports, supported by a partnership with ESL and with mobile phone hardware provided by Razer, the world’s leading lifestyle brand for gamers.
“Tencent is committed to supporting and growing the mobile esports community by leveraging structured esports competition on both a local and large scale,” said Ramon Hermann, director of esports for Tencent America. “The Valor Series playoffs showcase the absolute best in mobile esports, as Arena of Valor offers gamers a fast-paced, competitive multiplayer online battle arena (MOBA) experience without compromise, especially if you’re playing on gaming-inspired Razer hardware.“
The Valor Series, comprised of weekly regional tournaments, has been held over the past two months to determine the top four teams from both North America and Europe in the global hit game, Arena of Valor. The finals will stream across six different streaming platforms including the official Arena of Valor Twitch channel to fans around the world from the ESL E3 Arena. The winners will go on to compete in the Arena of Valor World Cup in Los Angeles this July to battle for a prize pool of $550,000.
“ESL focuses on delivering the best esports experiences globally both online and via live events,” said Yvette Martinez-Rea, CEO North America, ESL. “We are proud to work alongside Tencent to bring fans the highest level of mobile esports competition and host the Valor Series finals in front of such a valuable gaming audience at E3.“
“We are proud to sponsor this world’s largest mobile esports tournament, adding to our legacy of full-framerate ‘Arena of Valor’ support and shared commitment with Tencent to take mobile esports to the highest levels possible,” says Razer Co-Founder and CEO Min-Liang Tan. “Razer designed the world’s first phone for gamers, the only one with 120 Hz screen technology and sound tuned with Dolby and THX. We are excited to showcase it as the absolute best phone for esports.“
Onsite at the ESL E3 Arena, AT&T will support the event with a consumer facing activation of future and emerging 5G technologies, using the Microsoft HoloLens to enable interaction with content in an entirely different way and enhance the gaming experience.
